Obtaining a Danish Driver's Licence

Re-issue or renewal of Danish driver's licence

A Danish drivers licence can be re-issued, if lost, if the holder is normally resident in Denmark, i.e. resides in Denmark at least 185 days in any one year, and to Danes who live outside the EU.

If you have lost your Danish driver’s licence, you can make application to your nearest Danish Consulate to have it replaced.

International driver's licences can also be issued. For the fee involved if consular assistance is required, please click here (items 106-109).

The turn-around for the issuing of a Danish driver’s licence or an international driver’s licence is 4 – 6 weeks.

Please contact the nearest Danish Consulate for further information. Click here for contact details.
