Conditions
Under this scheme New Zealand passport holders between the ages of 18 and 30 (both inclusive) who are not accompanied by children, will have the opportunity to holiday in Denmark and work to help pay for their holiday activities. The permit will be valid for a period of not more than twelve (12) months from the date of entry to Denmark.
The intention with the working holiday scheme is that it should be a mixture of holiday and work, with holiday being the primary reason for the visit. Thus, the work component must not take up more than half of the time spent in Denmark, and must not involve any one employer for more than three months.
Participants in the scheme may enrol in one training or study course of up to three months during their visit to Denmark.
The applicant must possess a return ticket, or demonstrate that they have the funds to buy one and enough funds (approximately $500 per month) to support themselves during the period of stay in Denmark (should they be unable to find work). The applicant also needs to take out comprehensive medical and accident insurance
The visa must be used within 12 months of the date of issue.
A total of 200 working holiday visas will be issued in any one year. The scheme is expected to be of particular interest to young New Zealanders of Danish descent, but is open to all New Zealanders on a first come first served basis.
